Frequently Asked Questions
A few practical answers before we start talking about the work itself.
Working Together
-
We are based in Northern California and work on location throughout California and beyond.
Most productions take place where the story already lives: farms, vineyards, kitchens, hospitality spaces, production facilities, landscapes, and working environments.
Travel can be built into the project when the assignment calls for it.
-
Yes. Many projects begin with one Brand Film, photography assignment, Social Content production, or another focused brief.
There is no requirement to commit to an ongoing production program.
-
We are a strong fit for teams that care about people, process, place, craft, and visual consistency.
The best projects give us access to the people and environments that make the brand specific, whether the assignment is one focused production or part of a body of work that grows over time.
-
Yes. We work across food, agriculture, wine, hospitality, and lifestyle.
-
Yes. We work directly with brands and in-house teams, and partner with agencies that need experienced film and photography production support.
Services & Scope
-
Yes. We can help shape the story, visual approach, interview framework, shot priorities, scripts, production plan, and intended uses of the finished work.
We also work with in-house teams and agencies when that direction is already established.
-
Yes, when the assignment supports it. Film and photography can be planned within the same production, and the primary work may also support Short-Form Videos, Cutdowns, Reels, Clips, Single Image Posts, Carousels, Digital Ads, or other approved uses.
We prefer to identify those needs early so the production captures what each finished piece requires. The goal is useful work built from one clear creative direction.
-
Sometimes. We can review existing footage, interviews, photography, and archives to identify what can credibly become new finished work.
That may include a new edit, Short-Form Video, Cutdown, Clip, Audiogram, Carousel, or written editorial when the source material supports it. See Editing and Post-Production.
-
No. We are not a social media management company or a high-volume content studio.
We produce finished film, photography, and editorial pieces for social, digital, campaigns, websites, email, press, hospitality, and other brand communications. Publishing, community management, media buying, and channel management remain with your team or agency.
The emphasis is on work worth using, not filling a posting quota.
-
An Editorial Library is a growing collection of original photography, motion, interviews, conversations, and supporting material built around the needs of your team.
It can begin with one production. When something changes or another story becomes worth capturing, new material can be added. There is no required annual or ongoing commitment.
-
We share edits for your team to review and refine the work through the revision rounds included in the agreed scope. Consolidated feedback helps us keep each round clear and focused.
-
A Short-Form Video is a standalone finished piece built around a focused idea, person, process, product, place, or moment. It may be created independently or from a larger production.
A Cutdown is a shorter version of a primary film. They may come from the same production, but they serve different purposes. Explore our Social Content formats.
-
Final deliverables and usage are defined in the approved project scope.
If your team may need additional clips, interview material, or broader access to footage later, we can plan for that through additional deliverables, licensing, or a media buyout where appropriate.
Discussing those needs early allows us to capture and prepare the material properly.
-
Yes. We produce finished film and photography for digital advertising, including standalone campaign creative and shorter versions developed from larger productions.
We produce the creative assets. Media planning, placement, buying, and campaign management remain with your team or agency.
-
Yes. Film and photography can be prepared for guided tastings, tasting rooms, presentations, installations, visitor experiences, trade programs, and other hospitality uses.
We produce and prepare the visual material around the intended experience. When an installation or technical system is involved, we collaborate with the client or their experience-design partner. See hospitality applications of Editorial Libraries.
-
Yes. Long-form interviews often contain useful material beyond the finished film.
When appropriate, transcripts can be developed into articles, Q-and-A features, profiles, or blog stories while preserving the speaker’s voice and the intent of the original conversation.
Planning
-
Earlier is useful when a project depends on a specific season, process, location, or launch date, but timelines vary.
Some assignments begin months ahead. Others come together much faster. Reach out when you know something needs to be made, even if the brief is not finished yet.
-
Tell us what you need to make, how you plan to use it, your timeline, and your estimated budget. Share any existing brief, references, locations, or materials. You don’t need every detail figured out before reaching out.
-
Pricing depends on the creative development, production, post-production, and final deliverables the assignment requires. We define the scope around your project rather than applying the same package to every job.
